BREEAM Certificates inspect the life-cycle and environmental impact of buildings, and a completed sub-study of them examines the possibility of a function-change in the future.
The office building Margit Palace is a good example. The place was a cemetery in the Roman times, a blacksmith’s workshop in the Middle Ages, and a coach house stood there from 1869. It then operated as a transformer house from 1953.
As the owner of the building, our client, Adventum Zrt, set the goal to achieve a „Very Good” rating in BREEAM In-Use both for the physical properties of the building (PART1: Asset Performance) and for the operational protocols (PART2: Building Management). The developments necessary to achieve these certificates resulted in savings in energy and water consumption, as well as a reduction in communal waste and an improvement in the quality of services.
